Third Annual Charity Event was an absolute success!

Together we were able to raise $37,043.00 to benefit Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin!
The year 2020 has arguably been one of the most unpredictable and challenging years for many of us. When the COVID-19 pandemic cases continued to rise to unsafe mass gathering conditions, WDS knew we were faced with the choice of cancelling or postponing Trivia Night. We chose to postpone the event hoping we could carry on with the event in October. Unfortunately, the pandemic slowdown never came and we were faced with the difficult decision whether to cancel our third annual charity event. Fortunately, the idea of an online BINGO event surfaced, and we completely restructured the in-person event into a virtual fundraiser.
We were fortunate to partner with many of our returning local and corporate sponsors for gathering BINGO and Raffle Prizes. Our goal was to raise 100,000 meals ($1 = 3 meals) for the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin (SHFB). Here are the totals for BINGO Night:

$15,000 WDS Matching Donation*
*Our donation promise was to match dollar-for-dollar for each monetary donation given towards BINGO Night. The original maximum matching contribution was set at $10,000. However, with the increase of food insecure people in southern Wisconsin rising to 40%, WDS increased their maximum matching donation to $15,000.
The totals above brought us to raising $37,043 which can supply up to 111,129 meals! We are thrilled with the turnout of BINGO Night. Each year we are reminded of how fortunate we are to work with clients who contribute towards making a difference alongside of us. All proceeds of this event were sent directly to SHFB to help support the need of food distribution to people in need. WDS looks forward to planning our fourth annual charity event next year to benefit the Dane County Humane Society as they will be celebrating their 100th birthday!
