Tax Advisor
Luke Wendt has been the in-house Tax Advisor at WDS since 2021. He plays an integral role in guiding clients and their families through the complexities of tax planning, focusing on its impact on retirement. With a commitment to protecting retirement savings, his approach centers on minimizing unnecessary taxes, penalties, and adjustments while crafting strategic tax solutions to maximize retirement income. His work ensures that clients remain compliant with tax regulations while paying the least amount possible under the law.
As an Enrolled Agent (E.A.) and registered principal holding both securities and insurance licenses, Luke’s knowledge spans multiple financial disciplines. Since the beginning of his career in 2009, he has cultivated a deep understanding of tax planning strategies, including managing capital gains and executing Roth conversions. Known for his “brutal honesty,” Luke delivers candid, transparent advice that empowers clients to make well-informed financial decisions. He is driven by a passion for expanding tax advisory services at WDS, with a goal of building and leading a specialized tax team dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive solutions for clients.
Luke attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and now resides in Edgerton with his wife, Wendy, and their two dogs, Ferris Bueller and Principal Edward Rooney. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and exploring the latest advancements in theoretical physics, as a true Star Wars nerd does. Luke is also an avid follower of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Duke Basketball, and Formula 1 racing.
