As we counted the final results from client donations over the past few weeks, we couldn’t feel any more fortunate to work with each of our clients. Your generous donations ensured our event results to be a great success raising $5,000 more than last year’s event!
Together, we raised $26,407.00 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison (RMHC)! At this year’s event, we gave out over $5,500 of prizes to our attendees. Our donation total included $0 for expenses allowing us to give more back to RMHC. Here is how we came to our donation total:
- $2,940 in entry fees
- $1,280 in-game advantages
- $2,268 in raffle tickets
- $414 from the Live auction & games
- $9,305 in client donations
- $10,000 WDS client donation match*
*Our donation promise is to match dollar-for-dollar for each monetary donation given towards this event. We realize the client donations were just below the requirement to meet our maximum match; however, WDS chose to contribute the maximum match anyway!
If you attended this year’s event, you should’ve noticed we had an entire team representing the Ronald McDonald House come to have fun at our event. This team was made up of members who work directly within The House. Included on the Ronald McDonald Team was Kevin Huddleston, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison. Kevin was kind enough to share a few words about what The House provides for patients of the Children’s Hospital and their families, along with many words of appreciation for everyone who contributed to the event. The House provides more than a place to stay for families who are traveling long distances for their children to receive special care. The House is a caring and supportive community provided by other families and staff members of RMHC. It was our honor to host Trivia Night for Charity 2019 to benefit RMHC. All proceeds from our event will go towards funding the new operating costs with the fully renovated House (that nearly doubled in size from the recent expansion after the Building on Hope campaign).
Thank you again for your generous support, we are truly grateful to have the opportunity to partner with the Madison Marriott West in making this year’s event a success!
**Please save the date for next year’s Trivia Night for Charity on Friday, October 2nd, 2020 to support the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.**
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison relies on the generous support of the communities, families, and businesses that donate their time and efforts to support The House and their guests. Here are other ways you can help make a difference!
Wish List Program:
The Wish List are suggested items needed at the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room. Donations must be new and in the original packaging, expired and/or used items will not be accepted.

Pull Tab Program:
Each year the Ronald McDonald House in Madison receives nearly $10,000 in pull tab collections. They have partnered with many McDonald’s restaurant locations in collecting pull tab donations. The little aluminum tabs are recycled for revenue that goes towards supporting the Ronald McDonald House.

“Happy Meal” Dinner & Baking/Casserole Programs:
Families who are out and busy with meetings and other appointments do not have the time or energy to prepare a meal at the end of a long day. The “Happy Meal” Dinner program allows groups up to 12 people to prepare a meal for families who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House. The Baking/Casserole program is another opportunity groups can schedule a time to come bake treats for the House guests, or prepare casseroles that can be stored and prepared at a later date.
